Chapter 152 10th Anniversary Party
What happened in the past 10 years? A renewed interest in Old Glory, fashion, music, advertising, and television are all flashing red, white, and blue.
Harry Potter, Ocean’s Eleven, Pearl Harbor and Osmosis Jones all where hits at the box office. Movies starring monsters—both the scary kind and the lovable kind Planet of the Apes, The Mummy Returns, Shrek, Monsters, Inc., Harry Potter, and The Fellowship of the Ringall helped produce some of the year's biggest monster stars for kids and parents.
Sony's PlayStation 2 is still the champion of the industry. But Nintendo's GameCube and Microsoft's Xbox climbed into the ring.
A television gimmick once relegated to the day's lottery numbers and sports scores is now responsible for informing the world about everything and anything 24 hours a day.
A second generation of reality game shows appeared on the horizon. And fans of the raunchier Love Cruise and Temptation Island, the cover-your-eyes-cool Fear Factor, and the fast-paced The Amazing Race agree these new game shows are decidedly more exciting than Regis.
And let’s not forget music U2, Green day, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Usher. And don’t forget Shania Twain, Allen Jackson, George Strait and Faith.
But in 2001 little Marshall and Cody got on their bikes and headed back east to see what this thing called Star Days was all about. From their trip Star Chapter 152 was born in Utah. It’s been 10 very good years for this group. We have seen good times, found new friends and seen many beautiful and wonderful places as a Star riding group. We have lived and grown as a family and as a family we have also shared some painful memories, and like a family we have learned from them and we have grown.
To celebrate our 10 yr anniversary we met at a local restaurant. It was fun to bring our friends and families together to relive old memories and recall some of the funniest stories this group of riders has had. We’ve seen our little ones grow up and move on with their lives; some going to college while others honored us by joining the armed forces and still others getting married and having children of their own. It has been an adventure and one to be proud of. And when you stop to think of all the friends we met while on our chapter rides we could have easily filled 10 restaurants.
I would like to thank all of the members and riders that joined us on our chapter rides and the people that we have crossed paths with. Our prayers of happiness will always be with you.
